Woodland

Buffered from Van Buren Street by its park, Woodland was the first development to occur outside of the original Phoenix town site. This neighborhood, in the shadow of the State Capitol, was most recently home to drug dealers and derelicts. But the Capital Mall Homeowners Association has spearheaded efforts to get the situation turned around. Woodland today, has seen a great deal of improvement. Community involvement is increasing and the rate of homeownership has soared from fifteen to over forty percent.
